Ongoing PLAYHOUSE 395’S “BYE BYE BIRDIE”

Playhouse 395’s upcoming spring production is the beloved musical, “Bye Bye Birdie” – a witty, humorous, and honest look at the generation­al difference­s between adults and teens in a loving send-up of the 1950s in small-town America. Full of memorable characters, this comedy tells a hilarious, high-energy story accompanie­d by a familiar musical score that celebrates the beginnings of rock and roll. SIERRA CLASSIC THEATRE

The Sierra Classic Theatre presents “The Minutes,” through March 30. The play takes place in real time at a smalltown town council meeting so the play has been staged at the Town of Mammoth Lakes Offices, Ste. Z. Easter See’s candy is available at the Nothern Inyo Healthcare District Auxiliary Gift Shop now through Saturday, March 30. The Gift Shop is open Tuesday-Thursday, from noon - 4 p.m.

FREE TAX HELP FEBRUARY THROUGH APRIL 15

The AARP Foundation Tax Aide programs in Bishop and Mammoth expanded opportunit­ies in Bishop. Appointmen­ts are now being accepted for Friday afternoons from 1:30 - 4 p.m. Additional­ly as a result of the Library flood, the Mammoth site has moved to Fire Station No. 2 (next to Snowcreek Athletic Club) until the library reopens.

The AARP Foundation Tax Aide programs in Bishop and Mammoth using IRS-certified volunteers prepare federal and state tax returns online without charge to low- and moderatein­come residents. To schedule an appointmen­t, call one of the following:

TK/kinder pre-registrati­on has opened for Bishop Elementary School, 800 W. Elm St., Bishop, for the school year beginning Aug. 15. The Inyo County Board of Supervisor­s meets in regular session at 10 a.m. with the agenda available at the county website, www.inyocounty. us. TRANSITION­AL KINDERGART­EN ROUND UP

Bishop Elementary School will be holding a Transition­al Kindergart­en (TK) Round Up from 6 - 7 p.m. at 800 W. Elm St.., Bishop. A hotdog dinner will be provided during this opportunit­y to meet the teachers and administra­tion, visit the classrooms, play on the playground, get any help with registrati­on and for more informatio­n.

The Northern Inyo Hospital Auxiliary meet every Wednesday at the Hospital Annex 2759 Birch Street (enter at the Grandview Street Entrance) at 10 a.m. The second Wednesday of the month is a General Meeting. Other Wednesdays are devoted to making crafts for the annual Holiday Boutique. All friends are welcome to join a wonderful volunteer organizati­on who’s funds purchase life saving equipment for the hospital. INYO COUNTY SPELLING BEE

The annual Inyo County Spelling Bee competitio­n will be at 5 p.m. at Jill Kinmont Boothe School, 166 Grandview Road, Bishop, in the Great Room. Competitio­n will begin with the Elementary division for students in grades 4-6 followed by the Junior High division for grades 7-9.
