1927 – 2023

Marguerite Nogales, 97, of Lone Pine, CA passed away peacefully on November 23rd in Lodi, California surrounded by loved ones. Born on June 9, 1927 to Sabino and Isabella Muniz. Margurite grew up in Big Pine with her siblings Elveta, Enos, Mary, Louie, Pete, Carmen, Mary Ellen, Tony, Amelia, and Albert (Sal) a town that would remain close to her heart throughout her life. Marguerite’s life was a tapestry of love, family, and Faith. She Married the love of her life Arthur Nogales, January 21, 1990 at Santa Rosa Church of Lone Pine a town where she was raised and would leave and incredible mark. Together they raised one son, John Martinez, who brought joy and pride to Marguerite’s life.

In her life she worked as a waitress and a manager at The Indian Trading Post. One of her greatest goals was climbing Mt .Whitney at the age of 67 which she completed in 2 days.

Marguerite’s green thumb brought beauty to the world through her gardening. You could find her working in her yard as soon as the sun came up. Her love for Snap Dragons, Roses, and Irises. Her home was filled with laughter, the pitter patter of her beloved grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren and reminiscin­g of years gone by.

Marguerite is lovingly remembered by her surviving siblings. Brothers Louie Muniz and Albert (Sal) Muniz, and sister Amelia. Grandchild­ren; Johnny Martinez, Niki Martinez, David Martinez, and great- grandchild­ren Kayla Martinez, Branden Martinez and Hovi Martinez and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a community of friends. She rejoins her late husband, Arthur Nogales; son, John Martinez; brother Enos Muniz, Pete Muniz, Tony Muniz Sister’s Elveta Romero Carmen Davis, Mary Cherubini, and Maryellen Halford.

There will be mass of Christian burial on April 6, 2024 at 10Y00 a.m. Santa Rosa Church in Lone Pine, Lunch will be served after graveside services in Crowley Hall.
