ANGIE JUNE CALLOWAY

1953 – 2024

Angie was born in Washoe Medical Center in Reno, Nevada on June 13, 1953, and passed away peacefully in Big Pine with her husband, David, by her side on March 28, 2024.

Angie was given up at birth by her mother and was raised in different foster homes until about the age of 10 when she was placed into the Nevada State Children’s Home in Carson City. Angie went to school in Carson City and graduated from Carson City High School in 1971.

After graduating, Angie moved around a bit and eventually moved to Big Pine with a friend to help her care for her children. She moved to Bishop for a while but came back to Big Pine and considered it her home from then on.

Angie met her husband, David, in Big Pine and they were married in 2003. Angie was a faithful wife and proud stepmother to David’s son, Casey. She became a proud grandmother in 2018 when her granddaughter Kamilla was born. For “Grandma Angie”, the sun rose and set around Kamilla; always sharing pictures and proud moments with her to everyone.

Angie loved taking pictures, gardening, and being part of a family that loved her. Angie enjoyed putting a smile on people’s faces and had a way of making friends wherever she went. Angie will be deeply missed.

Angie leaves behind her husband of 20 years, David, Stepson Casey, Granddaughter Kamilla and her mother Liliana, Sisters Chelly and Delia, Stepsisters Loretta, Jenny and Ojay.

Services for Angie will be held Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Big Pine Community United Methodist Church with luncheon to follow provided by the Big Pine Fire Department. Desserts are welcomed. Donations in memory of Angie can be made to Big Pine Community United Methodist Church or to the Big Pine Volunteer Department.
