Along the Way
This Easter felt especially bright, reminding me of blessings in life all along the way. With Jesus’ resurrection, in spite of cold, windy weather and unraveling times, Spring’s new life and celebration are in the air.
After church service, around the table, many acknowledged a yearning for family, often lacking nearby and challenging for getting along.
I’d been reeling from a call with my long-distant wondering how to enjoy this special day.
My life journey, like many artist, nonconformist loners, has been “handsewn.” Abuse and brokenness made “home,” not a safe place. Sometimes a family of choice came about with friends along the way.
I’m grateful that denial and normalization don’t work for truth-seekers. It’s beneficial to look deeply, feel the pain and find a way to understanding, healing and forgiveness.
Older “handmade women” deserve my deepest thanks today. They noticed and appreciated something in me before I had a voice and could appreciate myself.
Beyond blood family, as we connect and come from our heart, we can experience true sister and brotherhood in the human family, personally and at large. That’s when alchemy and Kingdom of Heaven can happen here!
Just as there’s always money for the military industrial complex, there’s enough in this richest country to provide quality food, shelter, health care and appreciation for all Americans. No need for violence when people are respected and not violated.
Elected representatives in Congress can be pressured by concerned and self-educated citizen-voters, to do the right thing and take big money out of politics.
Rather than refer to President Biden as “elderly,” we can wake up and appreciate his experience and caring heart. With free will, we can ascend from being science and fact- free, to a wisdom culture that promotes compassionate loving care.
A Council of Elders in touch with The Circle of Life and our nurturing component can enrich male leadership.
