Ongoing FREE TAX HELP FEBRUARY THROUGH APRIL 15

The AARP Foundation Tax Aide programs in Bishop and Mammoth expanded opportunit­ies in Bishop. Appointmen­ts are now being accepted for Friday afternoons from 1:30 - 4 p.m. Additional­ly as a result of the Library flood, the Mammoth site has moved to Fire Station No. 2 (next to Snowcreek Athletic Club) until the library reopens.

TK/KINDER PRE-REGISTRATI­ON

TK/kinder pre-registrati­on has opened for Bishop Elementary School, 800 W. Elm St., Bishop, for the school year beginning Aug. 15. Parents or guardians should bring a copy of their online registrati­on, child’s birth certificat­e, proof or residence and immunizati­on record. Saturday, April 6 HOSPICE YARD/BAKE SALE

Hospice of the Owens Valley fundraisin­g Yard and Bake Sale will be from 8 a.m. - noon at 363 Academy Avenue, Bishop. Proceeds will benefit hospice volunteer training efforts, bereavemen­t support services and free community grief groups. Sunday, April 7 WILD SPIRITS

Wild Spirits, a fundraiser for Wildcare Eastern Sierra, will be from

- 8 p.m. at the Cerro Coso Community College, 4090 W. Line St., Bishop. The event will feature free food and wine, a silent auction and door prizes. BISHOP CREEK WATER ASSOCIATIO­N

The Bishop Creek Water Associatio­n will meet, at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Inyo County Office of Education/Jill Kinmont Boothe School facility, 166 Grandview Drive, Bishop, in the George Lozito Conference Center (northwest conner of the property). The Northern Inyo Hospital Auxiliary meet every Wednesday at the Hospital Annex 2759 Birch Street (enter at the Grandview Street Entrance) at 10 a.m. The second Wednesday of the month is a General Meeting. Other Wednesdays are devoted to making crafts for the annual Holiday Boutique. Wildcare Eastern Sierra, which cares for wild injured, orphaned, or sick birds, mammals, and reptiles throughout the Eastern Sierra, will have an orientatio­n for individual­s who may be interested in helping Wildcare by volunteeri­ng. The orientatio­n will be from - 3 p.m. at the center include many different volunteer opportunit­ies, including caring for animals at the center; transporti­ng a patient to the Center from locations such as Mammoth, Lone Pine, Lee Vining, etc.; running a shopping trip, building or repairing cages; or working on small projects at home.
