New thought and you
I have been asked many times, “What is different in your religion?” Many times, I know where the person who is asking is coming from but if I don’t, I will ask what his religious background is. I once looked up in Webster’s New World Dictionary the definition of religion. I was surprised when it read, “Belief in a Divine or superhuman power to be obeyed and worshipped.” When I read that, I thought it was no wonder our headquarters changed the name for the churches to Centers for Spiritual Living. While Religious Science is the study of religion, it has evolved to empower each individual to their highest and best.
We teach that God is an infinite spiritual Intelligence or Mind in action in man. The creative power around man is impersonal law, but in man it acts in a personal way. God personalizes and individualizes Itself in Man. This will not appeal to those that need saviors or saints to save them from some mythical sin that they have no power over themselves to eradicate. It will most likely not appeal to those that want an after-death experience of a Heaven or Hell. If you need devils or demons to justify illness or personal failure our centers are not the place to go. On the other hand, if you desire to expand the love within you and awaken your own individual God center to move into a world where God and you are the power in your life, then you will seek out and find a Center for Spiritual Living.
Life is the capacity to create what you want and to endeavor to be what you want to be. What we find is that there are laws governing this simple process. We find that the subconscious mind within the individual listens to every thought and every word and acts to bring these thoughts and words to fruition. In short, there is no idle word. Of course, that means we had better be more aware of what we are saying or thinking. That is why negative thinking can only lead to negative results.
As the Universe is on an ever-expanding scale, each of us is on an everexpanding consciousness. You are beautiful, intelligent, spiritual, and divine. The only thing preventing your heavenly experience is your own fear and belief. F.D.R. stated, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” Fear prevents our expectation of good. Good is not a ‘pie in the sky’ idea, it is with you always. You must awaken to it and embrace it as yours now. Jesus said, “Judge not by appearance, but judge a righteous judgement.” This is where faith comes in. We know and know that we know that God within us is Love, Strength, and Intelligence. There is nothing that cannot be resolved, cannot be healed, or cannot be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
All the Power of God is within you, as you. You set that Power into actions by your thoughts, words, and actions. It is as simple as that.
Everything is reciprocal. If you desire love, you must be loving. Those that wish to have friends must be friendly. The same goes for giving and receiving. It is not complicated. However, your control of any circumstance or situation will depend a great deal on your self-discipline in regard to negativity. Discipline is not always what we want to hear but it is necessary.
Say to yourself, “God within me is the power and the love I need. I know that Divine Intelligence guides and protects me in all that I do.
I am awake, aware and alive to the Power in my life.”
