Shawn’s Dating Confession:

GET LETTING HIS SINGLE STATUS WHY THE SINGER ISN’T HIM DOWN!

“I’m Not Chasing A Relationship!”

Have you ever felt like all of your friends are dating, while you’re completely single? If it seems like you’re the only person on the planet without a boyfriend or girlfriend, trust us, you’re not alone. Though they may not be flaunting their single status, tons of people feel the exact same way you do — including Shawn Mendes. “I’m not currently dating anyone, so, of course, sometimes when I see all those other artists and people in relationships, I think, ‘Maybe it would be nice; who would be great for me?’” he opens up.

I’M NOT SUPPOSED TO BE WITH ANYONE RIGHT NOW.

While Shawn admits that those relationship thoughts pop into his mind from time to time, he’s trying not to let the fact that he’s single get him down as much as it once did. Instead of trying to force a relationship, he says that believing that when the timing is right, fate will intervene, has really helped change his outlook on dating. “I just started to think: ‘This is wrong. Let it be. I’m not supposed to be with anyone right now,’” he recalls. “Since then, those kinds of thoughts haven’t stumbled

me and I haven’t been chasing a relationship.”

I’LL JUST WRITE A MILLION LOVE SONGS.

Until he finds his perfect match, Shawn says he’s fine with daydreaming about it and imagining what that person will be like. It turns out, it just might be you! “I could date a fan,” he suggests. “Why wouldn’t I date someone who admires me? Isn’t that what couples always say? ‘She’s my biggest fan.’ I mean, I’m just a regular dude.” And what is it that Shawn hopes to find in his future soulmate? “I really like funny girls — girls with a witty sense of humor,” he reveals. “If someone is able to catch onto what I’m saying very quickly, I find that very attractive.”

In the meantime, Shawn says he’ll focus on something else he can give his whole heart to: his music. “I think love is the most powerful feeling a human can experience, so I feel like I can write a million songs about it,” he explains. And there’s no better feeling than sharing what he’s written with the world. “I want to push myself to my limit of what I can handle and play as many shows and write as many songs as I can right now and fly around the world 10,000 times,” he admits. “I just want to take life as it comes instead of worrying about things.” That’s a great mentality to have!
