Barbara Pauline Swingle
August 15, 1947 - June 25, 2022
Barbara Swingle, 74 passed away Saturday morning June 25, 2022, at her home in Sterling, Colorado with her family present. A memorial ser vice will be held at 2: 00 p. m., Saturday, July 9 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 300 Ballpark Road in Sterling, with Pastor Sean Cole of ficiating. A private family burial will be held later.
Barbara was born August 15, 1947, to Gordon and Dorothy ( Mustard) Thompson in Sterling Colorado. She grew up in Sterling where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Rudy Swingle on September 12, 1966.
Barbara was a natural caregiver and was always willing to help anyone, anytime with anything they needed, big or small. She was exceedingly generous with her time, money and love. She enjoyed working in the yard, tending her flowers, and decorating for the season. She loved animals including feeding the birds and squirrels that visited her yard. She was also a member of Boots in Motion. She was a very strong & independent woman who loved to be with family and friends. She was very patriotic and all who knew her knew exactly where she stood on the issues. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather

Barbara is sur vived by her husband, Rudy and two children, son Darney Swingle and wife Kathy of Sterling, CO and daughter
Crystal Hershberger and husband Russell of Sterling, CO; two brothers, Gordon Thompson and wife Cindy of Nederland,
CO, Darryl Thompson and wife Joni of Potter, NE; three sisters, Beverly Cook and husband Hal of Parker, CO, Bonnie Amen and husband Tom of Brush, CO, Hilma Waitley and husband Dan of
Sterling, CO; three grandchildren; Aaron Swingle of OK, and Rylan and Kailynne Swingle of Sterling, CO; two step- grandchildren; Jon Hutt and wife Jenni of Sterling, CO and Chase Hutt and Rosa Fetty of Sterling CO; six step- great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
