Shawn Wade Metcalf, 58, of Sterling, Colorado passed away, June 11, 2022, in Aurora Colorado. Born June 10, 1964, in Denver, Colorado to Larry Jr Metcalf and Hazel Campbell Metcalf, Shawn was the eldest of 4.

He was schooled in Sterling, and Merino, graduating in 1983 from Caliche High School. Mr Metcalf and his siblings, upon the death of their mother were raised, along with some cousins, by Orrin Knutson and his wife Mitzi. While living with Uncle Orrin, Shawn learned how to drive tractors, work cattle, and was exposed to dairy farming.

Upon graduation from high school, he attended Colorado Technical University, obtaining degrees in Business Administra­tion and Computer Applicatio­ns. He held several positions during his working years.

When his health began to deteriorat­e,. and he could no longer work, he took to crafting mugs and small phone cases for "pocket change". He and his dad loved to go fishing at the Kiwanis fishing hole, Prewitt reser voir, often including Uncle Orrin.

Shawn was predecease­d by his parents, Larry Jr and Hazel Metcalf, his brothers Patrick, Michael and David. He is sur vived by sisters Alene Davis and her family of New York and Melissa Pelton of Nebraska, several nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews and cousins, and very special friends, Rethea Foxhoven and Chuck Schell.

Per his request, cremation has taken place and his ashes will be distribute­d later. A memorial ser vice is scheduled for Saturday, July 2, at the Anderson Pavillion, Kiwanis Fishing Hole from 5pm to 8pm.
