Summer Reading Program winding down for season

Sterling Public Library has lots of great programs for everyone this summer.

Stories and More @ the Park on Monday, July 18, at 10 a.m.. will be Penguins, Polar Bears and Seals, Oh My! Denise Ladd will share stories and we will make a cute penguin craft.

On Tuesday, July 19, at 2 p.m. is Tween Time @ the Library. This week the group will be learning the technique of paper mache. This program is for kids ages 9 to 12 years old.

Cooking With Kids @ the Library will be on Wednesday, July 20, at 10:30 a.m. This program is for ages 6 to 12 years old. Denise will talk about internatio­nal foods. The group will then make something that they will get to enjoy. You must register as space is limited. Registrati­on will begin one week before the class. Recipes will also be announced one week prior so watch if you have food allergies. You may register by calling the library at 970-522-2023.

On Monday, July 18, at 1 p.m. teens will meet for the Teen Book Club. Teens may bring any book they are reading and discuss them with friends. The library will provide light snacks.

Each Thursday at 5:15 p.m. the library will host Teen Movie night. This is a time for teens only. Snacks and a drink will be provided. Most movies will be rated PG-13 so parental discretion is advised.

Movie titles will be announced one week before showing.

The library will provide Summer School: How to Read Buildings on Tuesday, July 19, at 5:30 p.m. for adults. Jason Huggins will talk about buildings and what to look for if you want to know more about them.

On Friday, July 22, the library will be celebratin­g Christmas in July with a craft for adults. Stop in and do a Christmas craft from 1 to 3 p.m.

The Summer Reading Program is nearing the end. All reading time must be turned in by 5 p.m. on July 29. However, if you haven’t signed up yet you may still do so and participat­e. There is plenty of time to complete a few levels.
