To be a valid writein candidate, the person must file an affidavit of intent with the proper designated election official prior to the deadline.

If I write-in a name that is not a valid writein person (real or fictional) on the write-in line, am I wasting my vote? A non-valid write-in will not be counted as a valid vote.
