L yle Larson

Lyle D. Larson of Las Vegas, NV passed away on November 12, 2023. Lyle was born on May 23, 1948 in Dalton, Nebraska to Leon and Velma Larson, the second of three sons, Gary being the first born, Richard being the youngest. Lyle would often boast about being schooled in a one room schoolhous­e just north of Potter, NE where he was the only kid in his class. He graduated from Potter High School in 1966 then went on to a Junior College for one year in Scottsbluf­f, NE. He then enrolled in a business school in Denver, CO where he studied computer science.

In October 1968 Lyle enlisted in the Air Force where he proudly served for six years, being honorably discharged with the rank of Seargeant First Class. After leaving the Air Force, he joined his family business, Larson Motors Inc. in Sterling, CO where he remained until he retired in 2005.

His passion for classic cars was undeniable. He restored and maintained several vehicles over the years, always referring to them as his "babies".

Lyle never knew a stranger. He would always say, "that's just a friend I haven't met yet". His infectious laugh, sense of humor and devotion to his family and friends is like none other. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Velma Larson, and brother Richard. He leaves behind his wife, Judy, brother Gary (Cindy), daughter Shawna Larson-hernandez, grandson Tony Larson (Ashley), granddaugh­ter Cassaundra Demaria (Diego), great grandson Giovanni, and grandson Donovan Hernandez.

Lyle will be laid to rest in the spring with full military honors at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado.

Celebratio­n of Life is being held Saturday, December 9, 2023 at The Sterling Elks Lodge at 1pm. Friends and Family are invited.
