A Caring Pregnancy Resource Center of Northeast Colorado celebrated the opening of its new Sterling location on Thursday with an open house and a Logan County Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting.

Previously located on Main Street above the Family Resource Center, in order to accommodate its growth and to be more accessible to the public the center has now moved to 126 N. Second Street.

A Carding Pregnancy Resource Center is committed to providing women and men with accurate and complete information about both prenatal development and abortion. This is done through six sites in northeast Colorado; in addition to Sterling, there are offices in Brush, Holyoke, Yuma and Wray. The goal of all of the sites and the organization is to bring compassionate help and hope to individuals who are unprepared for pregnancy; to present healthy relationships as a positive lifestyle; and to provide opportunity for healing and restoration to those who have been hurt by abortion.

A Caring Pregnancy Resource Center’s services include pregnancy tests, limited ultrasounds, options counseling, STI testing/ treatment, parenting help/afterpregnancy support, adoption support, baby items, community assistance referrals, after-abortion care and student services.

During the open house guests were invited to tour the new space, which includes a private meeting space to talk to clients, an ultrasound room and plenty of storage for any items that expectant parents might need, including diapers, bottles, infant clothing, diaper bags, baby bath, baby lotion, baby shampoo, car seats and pack and plays.

The open house also included the presentation of two special gifts to the center, a wooden doll cradle made by Gary Nichols and a blanket donated by the Women of Faith from Faith Cornerstone Church, both in memory of Kristin Nichols, committee chairwoman for the center’s annual fundraiser banquet in Sterling, who passed away last year. Both

items were auctioned off at the center’s recent banquet but the winning bidder decided they needed to be part of the center.

A note with the blanket reads “This blanket is made especially for you. As it was made I prayed for you and continue to lift you up in prayer. I hope that as you surround yourself with this blanket, it will not only keep you warm, but remind you that you are not alone.”

A Caring Pregnancy Resource Center is open Monday-friday, from noon to 2 p.m. For more information call 970-466-4378 or visit, https://neco-cpc.org/.
