Doctor Sidney Jay Adler, 62, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away on February 24, 2024, after succumbing to a rare, severe case of necrotizin­g fasciitis, which swiftly progressed to sepsis and ultimately his death. His unexpected demise has left his family profoundly saddened, grappling with an unforeseen loss. Dr. Adler was born on August 7, 1961, to Sol and Beverly Adler in Brooklyn, New York, one of three children. He was raised on Long Island, New York. Dr. Adler was an Ivy League trained Medical Doctor, specializi­ng in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He completed undergradu­ate studies at The University of Pennsylvan­ia College of Arts & Sciences, medical school at Columbia University College of Physicians, and residency at John Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Adler was in private practice in Boca Raton, Florida; was employed by Banner Medical Group/sterling Women's Care in Sterling, Colorado; Intermount­ain Healthcare/healthcare Partners in Las Vegas, Nevada; and most recently with Avenir/hera Women's Health in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dr. Adler married the love of his life, and soulmate, Cassandra Simants on July 26, 2014, whom he met while working at Sterling Regional Medical Center. They shared the love of obstetrics & gynecology, music, reading, and travel. Dr. Adler had two children, Andrew, and Molly, two stepsons, Maxwell, and Brendan, and his beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Reddington. He took immense pride in each of his children, celebratin­g not only their diverse interests but also their unique and varied skills, showcasing their individual strengths and talents. Dr. Adler epitomized exceptiona­l provision, prioritizi­ng his family's well-being, and ensuring their care with unwavering dedication. He was a favorite uncle, his distinctio­n rooted in a genuine investment in their lives and prosperity. He will be remembered for his vibrant wit, melodic affinity, captivatin­g (but long) storytelli­ng, love for NFL football, appreciati­on of cigars, and a wealth of knowledge, all woven into a personalit­y that carried a unique blend of charm and sincerity. Dr. Adler had a profound love for his role as a doctor, demonstrat­ing genuine care to ensure that every patient he attended received nothing but the finest care. He consistent­ly went the extra mile, diligently staying abreast of the latest knowledge and advancemen­ts in his field, ensuring a high standard of practice. One colleague sums it up best by sharing the following quote regarding Sidney's passing, "I am of the belief that an OB/GYN can never really die. The lives he brought into the world, the lives that he saved, and the skills and knowledge that he passed on, will be his legacy forever." Dr. Adler is survived by his wife Cassandra Adler, son Andrew Adler, daughter Molly Adler, stepsons Maxwell and Brendan Baird, mother Beverly Adler, mother and father in law Rhonda and Fred Simants, sister Marsha Freedman, brother and sister in law Larry and Laurie Adler, brother in law and sister in law Nick and Kori Simants, sister in law and brother in law Erin and Justin Wright, nephew Jordan Freedman, niece Logan Freedman, and nieces Hailey and Taylor Simants, and Amelia Wright. Dr. Adler is preceded in death by his father, Sol Adler. A celebratio­n of life will be held in Sterling, Colorado at a future date.
