New 2024 introducti­ons from Plant Select plants

Sarada’s Greek mountain tea, Sideritis syriaca ‘P023S’ is a striking replacemen­t for traditiona­l lamb’s ear plant. This beauty has the soft leaves of lamb’s ear. It is a compact plant. It doesn’t run and resists disease. It is typically both rabbit and deer-resistant! This is a perennial with soft, silver-gray foliage and a light-yellow flower. Flowers and foliage radiate out from a central point creating a very pleasing form. With its light foliage and flowers, it pairs beautifull­y with a variety of other flower plants, particular­ly those with pink, purple, and magenta blooms. It grows in full sun. It has a low water requiremen­t. It grows in sandy, clay, or loam soil. It grows to be 1012” tall, and 18” wide. It blooms from late June to early July. It grows in zones 5-10.

Ever Silver™ creeping germander, Teucrium ‘Harlequin’s Silver’ low-growing carpet of mounding, silver foliage from summer through winter. In early summer, its charming purple flowers appeal to pollinator­s. In the winter, its silvery foliage keeps its color, adding interest to winter landscapes. This is a low-maintenanc­e plant, Ever Silver ™ creeping germander, doesn’t need deadheadin­g. Once its roots are establishe­d, it’s heat tolerant and needs little water. Typically, it’s rabbit and deer-resistant. This is a low-growing perennial that thrives in full sun, growing best in sand and gravel soils that are well-draining. You might want to try this where there is low foot traffic if you are considerin­g replacing turf. It grows in full sun. It requires low water. It grows best in well-drained soil. It grows to be 4-6’ tall, and 1-2’ wide. It blooms in early June. It grows in zones 5-10.

Letitia flannel plant, Verbascum ‘Letitia’ grows in full sun and part shade. This globe-shaped perennial has bright yellow flowers with red centers from May to July. It requires full sun to part shade. It has low water requiremen­ts. It grows in sandy, clay, or loam soil. It grows 10-12”wide, and 1012” tall. It has bright yellow flowers with a red center that blooms from midmay to mid-june. Zones 5-10.

Crystal Frost™ Arizona Cypress, Hesperocyp­aris arizonica ‘Fandango’ is heat tolerant, drought tolerant, and it can handle winter temperatur­es down to -20 degrees Fahrenheit or zone 5a. It has blueish-silver needles and an open, feather-like growth. This cypress has low water requiremen­ts and has better winter hardiness than the Arborvitae it resembles. It requires full sun and well-drained sandy or loam soil. It is xeric once establishe­d. It grows to 8-15’ wide, and 18-25’ tall. It grows in zones 5-9.
