PEKIN - Richard “Rich” Lee Goodlick, 89, of Pekin passed away at 5:53 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023, at Carle Health Pekin Hospital.

Born Dec. 5, 1934, in Bloomingto­n to Carl and Bernice (Peterson) Goodlick, he married Jan Miller on July 21, 1961, at the First United Methodist church in Pekin. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Randy (Pam) Seward of Pekin; one daughter, Kim (Joe) Martin of Morris; four grandchild­ren, Kyle Seward and Kenzie (Cody) Bachman, both of Pekin, Nick (Jessica) Stafford of Eureka and Tyler Stafford of Bloomingto­n; eight great-grandchild­ren; two sisters, Wilma (Ray) Garber of Pekin and Judy Kumpf of Hopedale; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant great-granddaugh­ter, Karlee; two sisters, Donna Alt and Mary Alice Kuntz; and one brother, Larry Goodlick.

Rich was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked for Local 644 as a Carpenter for 40 years before retiring in 1996.

Rich loved traveling with his wife, Jan, and spent winter months in Florida and Arizona and many summers in Alexandria, Minnesota, at Jan’s parents’ cabin on Lake Brophy. He coached Cub Scout softball and little league baseball. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pekin.

His memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023, at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Judy Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Military rites will be provided by the United States Army and the Tazewell Military Rites Team.
