EAST PEORIA - Sharon Louise Dodd, 67, of East Peoria passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

She was born on January 6, 1957, in Chicago, a daughter of James Paul Currin and Helen (Brown) Currin. Sharon married Carl Clay Dodd on August 26, 1987, in Bloomingto­n, and he survives.

She is also survived by her two children, Carl James (Jessica) Dodd of Peoria and Beth (Harold) Everson of Wyanet; one step-son, John (Melissa) Dodd of Batavia; three grandchild­ren, Brandon Kerner, Aaron Kerner and Ethan Everson, all of Batavia; and two step-grandchild­ren, Owen and Ellie Dodd of Batavia. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Sharon was a graduate of Streator High School, Class of 1975. She last worked as a dispatcher for the City of Peoria for 27 years, retiring in 2010. She previously worked as a jailer for both McLean County and Peoria County.

She loved to read, watch people sing Karaoke, meet new people and, especially, spend time with her family.

Sharon’s funeral service will be at 12 noon on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. Fr. Alex Schumacher will officiate. Her visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2024, also at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jack E. Felts Memorial Fund, c/o Loyola University Medical Center.
