- Larry Darnell Bell Sr., 58, of Peoria answered God’s call and passed away at 8:14 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.

Larry was born on June 25, 1965, in Waukegan, Illinois, to the late George Bell Sr. and Doris Ann Bell.

Larry was a family man; he enjoyed fishing, singing, dancing and spending time with his children, grandchild­ren, siblings, nieces, nephews and friends. Larry was a loving man and never met a stranger. His sense of humor, playfulnes­s, compassion and love of God is what we’ll miss most about him.

Larry leaves to cherish his precious memories 3 daughters, Angelica (Maurio) Herrod, LaQueena Bell (Jorge Perez) and Latasha Dawson; 2 sons, Larry (Kelsey) Bell and Eric (Christina) Bell; and 1 step-son, Juan (RaeAnn) Garza-Whitby, all of Peoria Illinois. Also cherishing Larry’s memories are his 7 brothers, George (Maryann) Bell of Horn Lake, MS, Larry Bell of Chicago, IL, L. Carl (Alfreda) Bell of Berkley, IL, and George Hargrow, James Bell Sr., Tracy (Kim) Bell and Jackie (Keisha) Yates, all of Peoria; 4 sisters, Doris Bell and Annice Wilson, both of Chicago, IL, and Barbara Trent and Annette Young, both of Peoria, IL; his ex-wife, Tammy Meza; and childhood best friends, Scott Whitby and Tim Powell.

Larry leaves behind 25 grandchild­ren, 1 great-grandchild, 8 step-grandchild­ren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ann Bell; 3 brothers, Billy, Michael and WC Bell; 1 sister, Joann Hargrow; his granddaugh­ter, Tamara Rivers; and his grandparen­ts.

A home-going celebratio­n will be held at Davison Fulton Woodland Chapel on Saturday, March 30, at 11 a.m., with visitation commencing two hours prior at 9 a.m. Pastor David Coyle of Averyville Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will be at Parkview Cemetery.
