MORTON - Kenneth Daniel VanNattan Jr., 82, of Monett, Missouri, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024, at his home.

He was born August 2, 1941, in Peoria, Illinois, the son of Kenneth Daniel VanNattan Sr. and Mildred Evelyn Cox VanNattan. He married Connie Lynne Kennel on August 20, 1961, in Morton, Illinois. He graduated from Bradley University with a degree in accounting and retired from wholesale food distributo­r Fleming Co., formerly Chris Hoerr and Son, having served as controller and CFO. Serving for many years as a member of the Morton Park District Board, he also served at the state level as president for one term. He also served on the Morton Planning Commission.

Ken was a longtime member of Grace Church in Morton, Illinois, where he served as treasurer and a coach for the Bible Quiz Team. More recently, he attended New Site Church in Monett, Missouri, where he was a part of the JOY senior adult group.

Surviving are his wife, Connie, of Monett, Missouri; son, Stephen (Margaret) of Telephone, Texas; daughter, Leanne (Steven) McKinney of Monett, Missouri; grandchild­ren, Rebecca VanNattan, Jacob VanNattan, Amanda (Cody) Blalock, Caroline (Kyle) Cavanaugh, and Danny (Baylee) McKinney; great-grandchild­ren, Rissa Blalock, Mahayla Blalock, and Ruger Blalock, as well as Evelina Cavanaugh, due in August; brother, James (Sue) VanNattan; sister Mary Hall; and brotherin-law Stephen (Ellen) Kennel. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Sharon Rhoades; and brothers-in-law Gene Rhoades and Jay Hall.

There will be a private family burial in Hirstein Cemetery in Morton, Illinois. Memorials may be made to: Wycliffe Bible Translator­s (www.wycliffe. org) or Mission Aviation Fellowship (www.maf. org).
