Instructions: Cross stitch over two threads using two strands 321/45062.
Work vertical and horizontal satin stitch using one strand pearl cotton.
Work herringbone stitch inside upper box using one strand pearl cotton and outside boxes using one strand 321/45062.
Work eyelet stitch over four threads (A) using one strand 321/45062.
Work modified eyelet stitch ( B) using one strand 321/45062.
Work running stitch inside the boxes using one strand 321/45062 and outside the boxes using one strand M57.
Work Smyrna cross stitch over four threads using one strand M57.
Backstitch “Merry Christmas" and around Smyrna stitch boxes using one strand 321/45062.
Work a double running stitch over four threads for outside border using one strand 321/45062.
Work straight stitches over corner satinstitch triangles using one strand M57.
Attach beads using 1/2 cross stitch and one strand off-white sewing thread going through bead twice.

embroidery floss • Valdani Inc. M57 pearl cotton #8 • Polyester fiberfill • 8" of twisted cording made with 321/45062
Work double-running stitch with 321/45062 in a 3" square pattern on backing fabric. Press backing and stitched piece from reverse side, straightening as much as possible. Place stitched piece and backing reverse sides together, folding edges to double running stitch. Whipstitch using one strand M57 and connecting double running stitch around the entire piece, stopping half way on last side.
Stuff ornament with fiberfill to about 3/4" thickness. Whipstitch opening closed, stopping before last two running stitches. Fold twisted cording and insert ends to make hanger. Whipstitch remaining running stitches being sure to secure twisted-cord hanger. Twisted-Cording Instructions are on page 62.
