I decided after 27 years of being with my husband that we would renew our wedding vows on a beach in the Bahamas for Christmas 2016, along with our children, and that is what we did! We exchanged new vows right before Christmas under a lone palm tree at 10 a.m. on a Thursday, and by noon that day we were back on the beach jumping waves! I figured it was a long time coming since we originally got married at city hall on our lunch hour wearing black business suits many years ago while living in California! It is at this time every year that I sit back and reflect on how lucky I am to be where I am in my life and loving every single minute of designing. May 2018 bring you good health, peace and many hours of stitching what touches your heart!

Lemon Drop Cookies

1 package lemon cake mix 2 eggs 1/3 cup vegetable oil 1 teaspoon lemon extract 1/3 cup confection­ers’ sugar for

decorating

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Pour cake mix into a large bowl. Stir in eggs, oil and lemon extract until well blended. Drop teaspoonfu­ls of dough into a bowl of confection­ers’ sugar. Roll them around until they’re lightly covered. Once sugared, put the cookie dough on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake for 6 to 9 minutes. The bottoms will be light brown, and the insides chewy.
