Originally stitched in the early 19th century, this sampler features a verse from Ecclesiastes surrounded by four varying alphabets and a sampling of motifs. The age of the stitcher is unknown, but she added several specialty stitches, including tent stitch, satin stitch and Algerian eye stitch.
