Bring a little luck of the Irish into your stitching basket with this pair of designs from Frony Ritter. Stitched on Aida or perforated paper, either design can be finished as a small hanging ornament or as a topper for a small box.

• 7" x 8" piece 14- count mountain sage

marble Aida by DMC®* • 5" x 6" 14- count perforated paper • One skein each DMC® or Sullivans®

USA six-strand embroidery floss* • One skein Painter’s Thread Metallic Braid #4 from Threadnuts* • Size 24 tapestry needle *See Where to Find It on page 63.

Stitch Count: 18H x 29W Design Size: 11/4" x 21/8"

Instructio­ns:

Cross stitch over one square using two strands of floss. Backstitch over one square using one strand of floss.

Finishing Materials & Instructio­ns

• Empty mint tin • White spray paint • Tacky glue • Dark olive hemp cord • Yellow/gold decorative trim

Trim perforated paper to one square from stitching on all sides, using sharp embroidery scissors.

Following manufactur­er’s instructio­ns, spray tin with white spray paint; let dry.

Glue stitched piece onto tin lid, making sure to center. Model was embellishe­d with dark olive hemp cord wrapped around bottom.
