“Square” Hoop Frames from Easy Street

Keeping perfect tension when stitching can sometimes be a challenge, but there are tools that can help keep fabric taut. Stitchers can use stretcher bars, rolls, hoops, etc. But what if the item used during stitching could also be used to frame a project? You can save a step and save some time and money on framing with Easy Street Crafts’ “Square” Hoop Frames. These frames come in a variety of sizes, shapes and colors, making customization for any project a breeze. Using these lightweight frames is truly like walking down “Easy Street.” Simply separate the hoop/frame by pulling it apart at the corners; center your stitching fabric (Aida, linen, evenweave) over the inner hoop and snap the outer hoop back into place. Then stitch your project as desired. The final step couldn’t be easier. According to Easy Street Crafts: “With stitchery in place, slightly pry frames apart and cut away excess fabric by cutting against the inner frame with a craft knife. ... Press frames together again.”

“Square” Hoop Frames are available directly from Easy Street Crafts. Shapes available in this line are square, hexagon and two sizes of rectangles. Another line, called Sweet Suspensions, features double-sided mini frames in various shapes, which are perfect for ornaments. Prices for “Square” Hoop Frames range from $7.49 to $9.95; Sweet Suspensions frames are $2.49. To view options and to order, visit www.easystreetcrafts. com or phone (800) 400-3066.

To use the sets, gently peel the stamp from the enclosed sheet and place on an acrylic block; apply ink and press onto desired surface (paper, wood, fabric, etc.). The possibilities are limitless for cards, announcements, gift tags and artwork. Stitchers only need to add their choice of ink color, desired surface and any other chosen embellishments.
