Instructions:

Cross stitch over two threads using two strands of floss. Work partial cross stitches where small symbols appear using two strands of floss.

Backstitch over two threads using two strands of floss.

Work straight stitch using two strands of floss.

Work French knots using one strand of floss and wrapping floss around needle twice.

Finishing Materials & Instructions

• 8" x 4" piece cardboard (Bookmark) • 8" x 4" piece coordinating fabric

(Bookmark) • Coordinating sewing thread • Sewing machine (optional)

Bookmark: Press stitched piece from reverse side, straightening as much as possible. Trim stitched piece to 1/2" from stitching on all sides.

Cut coordinating fabric to same size as trimmed stitched piece. Cut cardboard 1/4" smaller on all sides than coordinating fabric.

Place stitched piece and coordinating fabric right sides together. Sew together using 1/4" seam allowance, leaving bottom open.

Turn bookmark right side out; insert cardboard through opening. Turn under seam allowance; hand-sew opening closed.
