Adorn your scissors with this spooky-cute fob from Italian designer, Teresa Murgida. Stitched in a quintet of DMC flosses atop Wichelt linen, the design is a quick stitch and can be finished into a fob before the first goblin knocks on your door.

linen from Wichelt Imports Inc.* • One skein each DMC® or Sullivans®

USA six-strand embroidery floss* • Size 26 tapestry needle Stitch Count: 32H x 48W Design Size: 2" x 3"

Instructio­ns:

Cross stitch over two threads using two strands of floss. Work backstitch using two strands of floss.

Finishing Materials & Instructio­ns

• 4½" x 6" coordinati­ng backing fabric • 4½" x 6" fusible fleece • Polyester fiberfill • 1/8"-inch coordinati­ng ribbon • Sewing needle and thread • Fabric marker

Press stitched piece from reverse side, straighten­ing as much as possible. Attach fusible fleece to reverse side of stitched piece following manufactur­er’s instructio­ns.

Lay stitched piece facedown. Measure and mark a line 1/2"–1" from stitching on all sides, staying on grain line of fabric when possible. Lay stitched piece on backing fabric with right sides facing; pin layers together.

Sew around design along drawn line, leaving an opening at bottom for turning. Trim both layers to 1/4" seam allowance; trim corners to 1/8" seam allowance. Turn right side out; fill with polyester fiberfill and sew opening closed.

Referring to photo, attach ribbon around opposite corners; tie in a bow and trim ends. Tack ribbon in place with matching thread or floss.
