Finishing Materials & Instructions

• Coordinating lining fabric • 1"-wide black satin ribbon • ½"-wide black lace • Straight pins

Press stitched piece from reverse side, straightening gently. Square up and trim piece to 10" x 143/4".

Cut 2 pieces of lining fabric, 10" x 75/8". With right sides together and using a 1/4" seam allowance, stitch down one side, across the bottom, leaving a 3" opening in the bottom for turning right side out later, and up the other side. Fold stitched piece in half with right side facing and stitch along sides; turn right side out. Place lining piece inside of stitched piece with right sides together, position a 20" length of lace between the lining and stitch piece along the upper edge and pin in place. Stitch around the top of the purse. Turn right side out through opening in lining. Push seam allowance of opening to the inside and blind-stitch closed. Push lining to the inside of purse.

Cut two 131/2" lengths of black satin ribbon. Place one length at the top of one side of the purse with ends 4" apart and stitch in place for one handle. Repeat with other length of ribbon on opposite side. Make four flat bows from satin ribbon and attach to ends of handles, referring to photograph for placement.
