linen from Wichelt Imports Inc. (Pillow) • 6" x 6" piece 14- count Aida from

Zweigart® (Ornament)

• One skein each Aurifil Aurifloss

six-strand embroidery floss

• Size 24 tapestry needle

Instructions

Cross stitch over two threads of linen ( Pillow) or one square of Aida (Ornament) using two strands of floss.

Finishing Materials & Instructions

• Fabric: two 1" x 9" pieces cream print, two 3" x 9" pieces and one 15" x 9" piece blue print (Pillow); two 11/4" x 31/2" pieces, two 51/4" x 11/4" pieces, and one 51/4" x 51/4" piece complementary fabric (Ornament)

• Buttons from The Bee Company

Pillow: Press stitched piece from reverse side, straightening as much as possible. Trim stitched piece 13/4" from design edge on all sides.

Sew one 1" x 9" piece of fabric to the left edge of the stitched piece, right sides facing; sew remaining piece to the right edge. Then stitch the 3" x 9" pieces of fabric to left and right edges of 1" x 9" pieces, right sides facing, to complete pillow front.

Ornament: Press stitched piece from reverse side, straightening as much as possible. Trim stitched piece 11/4" from design edge on all sides.

Sew one 11/4" x 31/2" piece of fabric to the left edge of the stitched piece, right sides facing; sew remaining piece to the right edge. Sew one 51/4" x 11/4" piece to the top edge, right sides facing; sew remaining piece to the bottom edge, right sides facing, to complete ornament front.
