Ramettes drop finale to Kane
JOHNSONBURG – The visiting Lady Wolves defeated the Ramettes, 51-29 to end the Paper City girls' season 6-16. Kane, which won at Cameron County on Thursday, is 10-10 and finishes the regular season on Tuesday at home against Brookville.
Seniors Emma Myers and Ella Lindberg played their final games for the blue-and-gold. Annasophia Stauffer whose missed most of the season because of injury, played the first three seconds in her last appearance.
The Lady Wolves who got double figure games from Maya Smith (15), Cora Jekielek (12), Hailey Hillman (10), and Mia Anderson, led 20-12 at the half.
Kane led by 14 points late in the third when Ally Notarianni banged a three making it 3221 with 48 seconds left. Anderson's put back at the buzzer bumped it 13 and pulled away with a 17-8 fourth quarter edge.
Maria Casilio scored nine to top the Ramettes, Natalie Dunworth and Lindberg had eight, Notarianni three, and Zoey Grunthaner, who replaced Stauffer, one point.
The Lady Wolves finished second in the AML North to Elk County Catholic and will play South winner St. Marys in the upcoming league playoffs.
The Kane girls won the JV game, 48-21.
