Cell phone tower contract to be reviewed by the Authority's Solicitor

- By Theresa Auriemmo

The Mount Jewett Borough and Mount Jewett Regional Sewer Authority have been discussing the proposed cell tower to be placed near the third sewer pond. In February's meeting, the Authority Board reported that the contract for the cell tower is being reviewed by the Authority's Solicitor, Tony Alfieri.

Secretary for the Authority, Kelly Koontz, said there are a few things the Authority would like to see changed on the contract before they sign it.

The Board agreed to run an ad for a summer maintenance position.

In January's meeting, it was agreed to put a bid out for the Manhole 99 to East End Pump Project. The Board accepted a bid from Duffy Inc. to do the Project. The bid amount was $22,400.

Koontz was approved to update the Hamlin Township agreement and to have the Authority's solicitor review it and present it to Hamlin Township.

The Board agreed to install a cleanout on the high-pressure line down by Hamlin Bank.

They also approved the motion to move the Authority's $6,000 CD at CNB to PLGIT.

Back in November's meeting, Board Vicepresident Brian Sees made a motion to give Chris Crandall a $77 credit on his account for overpayment of repair done to the East End Pump Station generator. The Board agreed to credit Crandall.

The Authority received a quote from Bobcat for $3,750 for a tiller for the tractor.

Brian Sees also made a motion that was approved by the rest of the Board to move the $5,000 CD at CNB to the savings account and to transfer $85,000 to the Authority's PLGIT account due to interest rates. The Board agreed it would be more beneficial for the Authority.
