Mckean County Commissioners advance economic development, fiscal responsibility, and community services
MCKEAN COUNTY - During the recent meeting of the Mckean County Commissioners, a significant milestone was achieved with the approval of the ARPA Municipal Recovery Allocation Application. This crucial application sought reimbursement from Mount Jewett Borough to support the Mckean County Infrastructure/blight Remediation Project. The commissioners, including Cliff Lane, Carol Duffy, and Thomas Kreiner, successfully secured a reimbursement of $27,531 for the vital project. This financial boost will play a pivotal role in addressing infrastructure challenges and combating
blight within the county, showcasing a commitment to community development and enhancement.
In addition to this noteworthy achievement, the commissioners also turned their attention to the administrative aspects of governance. One key decision involved the approval of the 2024 Meeting Calendars, encompassing a comprehensive schedule for Bi-monthly Commissioners Meetings, Salary Board Meetings, Retirement Board Meetings, and Election Board Meetings. Moving on, the commissioners made key appointments to the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) Committee. Richard Fry was appointed as the Planning Representative, and his term is set to span from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2026.
Furthermore, Kate Kennedy was appointed to the CEDS Committee, serving as the Economic Development Representative. Her term, effective from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2026, underscores the emphasis on economic growth and sustainability within the county.
In a decisive move, the commissioners appointed Anita Holman to the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) Committee. Holman will serve as the Industry Representative, bringing her expertise to the committee from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2026. Additionally, a pivotal decision was reached with the adoption of the 2024 Mckean County Budget. The commissioners approved the budget with no tax increase, aligning with the advertised plan and as made available for public inspection.
The Mckean County Commissioners addressed several crucial Contracts, Leases, and Purchase Agreements during their recent meeting. Firstly, they entered into a Maintenance and Service Agreement with Savin, establishing a partnership between the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Institute and Mckean County.
