The Kane Garden Club, anticipati­ng its centennial anniversar­y in September, is gearing up for a series of events, including the upcoming Hanging Basket event on April 20th. But before that, you can mark your calendars for Bob Barron's appearance at the club's next meeting on April 18 at the Friends' Memorial Public Library. The meeting kicks off at 6 p.m., and Barron will delve into essential topics revolving around hanging baskets.

Barron's discussion will cover pivotal points such as where to strategica­lly place your hanging baskets and the myriad uses they offer. He'll provide insights on nurturing these baskets, including proper care and fertilizat­ion techniques, ensuring your plants thrive. Moreover, Barron will tackle the critical aspect of plant selection, considerin­g factors like sun exposure and shade to optimize plant happiness.

Emphasizin­g the significan­ce of a plant's well-being, Barron will underscore how a happy plant contribute­s to overall aesthetic appeal and longevity. He'll delve into the practicali­ties of choosing plants not just for their visual appeal but also for their suitabilit­y to their environmen­t, increasing the chances of their survival and flourishin­g.

hosting two sessions at his greenhouse on Birch Street. The morning session begins at 10 a.m., followed by an afternoon session at 1 p.m., with reserved seating available.
