Mount Jewett Swedish Association financial support for Senior Field Day
In the past year, the Mount Jewett Swedish Association (MJSA), formerly renowned as the Mount Jewett Swedish Festival, achieved a momentous milestone by obtaining 501(c)(3) status, signifying a pivotal point in its evolution. With this official acknowledgment, the association embraced a profound mission centered on fostering community enrichment and providing steadfast
support. Demonstrating their commitment to this cause, members of the association took decisive action on Monday, contributing $200 towards the Smethport Area School District's Senior Field Day, exemplifying their dedication to enhancing local initiatives.
Leslie Davis, serving as the Board President of MJSA, articulated the association's fundamental commitment to community reinvestment. She emphasized
that their overarching goal is to identify and support projects that not only elevate the festival ambiance but also yield tangible benefits for the residents.
Theresa Harris, representing Senior Field Day, gratefully accepted the donation. Drawing from her experience as a science teacher, she recalled teaching several members of the Swedish Festival Association.

highlighting its role in supporting the class field day. This event brings all students together for a final gathering before graduation.
