In honor of officers lost - National Police Week

-

MCKEAN - District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-shaffer recognizes Police Officers during National Police Week, 2024. National Police Week is a week set aside to remember Officers who gave their lives in the line of duty. With each year, the memory of Officers we have lost becomes more ingrained in our hearts and they are remembered every day. Heroism is synonymous with the names of the Officers we have lost: Patrolman Steve Jerman, Sergeant David Distrola, and, in 2023,

Lt. Jeff Shade and Trooper Jay Rougeau from Erie. Officers risk their lives every day for us – and they are willing to join the ranks of those respected Officers we have lost – all in the name of community protection. Each year we honor them and reinforce the legacy they left behind which is passed on to each young Officer. God bless our Officers from Bradford Township Police, Mckean County Detective Bureau, Pennsylvania State Police, Foster Township Police, University of Pittsburghbradford

Police, City of Bradford Police, Kane Borough Police, Otto Police, Fish and Boat Commission, Game Commission, Mckean County Sheriff’s Department, Smethport Police, Port Allegany Police, Probation, Parole, Corrections, and Mckean County Drug Task Force. God bless the families of Patrolman Steve Jerman, Sergeant David Distrola, Lt. Jeff Shade and Trooper Jay Rougeau. And may God bless the memories of these respected Officers for laying down their lives for us.
