Alice Conley Leach BAINBRIDGE ISLAND

-

- Alice Conley Leach, 1917-2024.

Born: Chester, Pennsylvania - Died Bainbridge Island, Washington.

Alice wrote her own obituary which consisted of 2 sentences. She never wanted to live in the past and would hate for us to. These are her highlights. Dark chocolate, great food, and cappuccinosher recipe for a long life! Her zest for life is an inspiration to all who knew her. She loved a good party, great food, books, boating in the San Juans, and any adventure.

She traveled the world, went hot air ballooning, white water rafting, and learned to cross country ski all after turning 65. To the dismay of her children and the residents of the Island she drove till she was 101. She was a season ticket holder for the PNW ballet, Seattle Symphony, theaters, and loved museums. She was a lifelong member to several garden clubs and still belonged to her book club at 107. Alice lived her life to the fullest and had an inquisitive mind, never wanting to miss anything. She is now reunited with those who passed before whom she dearly loved and missed. Her husband, CDR Everett N. Leach, USN retired, and her beloved parents and many friends. She is survived by her children; Neil Leach, Frank Leach, Alison Leach, and Heather Leach, along with 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She will be taking her last Bainbridge ferry ride where her ashes will be, or as she wrote in her obituary; “tossed, hurled or thrown” off the ferry. Obviously, she possessed a unique sense of humor. We will miss her.
