LENOIR CITY - Robert Lee Tillery, Jr. passed away suddenly at his home on August 31, 2023. He was 65 years old. Rob was born in Benton, TN. He loved Polk County, exploring outdoors, swimming in Lake Ocoee, fishing, sailing and canoeing on Laurel Lake, spending time with friends on their farms. His family moved to the Concord/Farragut area of Knoxville in 1967, where he made great friends and enjoyed closer contact with extended family. He was a 1976 graduate of Farragut High School.

Rob was employed as a constructi­on drilling company foreman, and worked for Master Drillers for many years. He enjoyed what he did and was very committed to his job, rarely missing a day of work.

Rob will be remembered for his smile and laugh. He loved to play the guitar. He enjoyed recounting stories from the past, and had a wonderful appreciati­on of humor. He was a loyal fan of UT football and the Minnesota Vikings. Rob is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Tillery and Martha Sharp Tillery. He is survived by his daughter, Alison Tillery; grandson, Jaxson Clabough; siblings, Melita Tillery Duffy (John), Tina Marie Tillery, and Alvin Andrew Tillery (Angie).

Family and friends are invited to gather for a memorial service for Rob on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. at Lakeshore Park, 5930 Lyons View Pike, Knoxville, TN. A park map may be found online at www.lakeshorep­arkknoxvil­le. org, indicating parking areas closest to the Marble Pavilion, where the service will be held.
