Margaret Janette Medley

KNOXVILLE - Margaret Janette Thomas Medley, age 80, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023 at West Hills Health and Rehab. Margaret was born in Dayton, Tennessee on March 9, 1943 to the late Ernest Alvin Thomas and Sally Rowena Thurman Thomas. Margaret attended school at Dayton, Tennessee for 11 years and in 1959 moved to Cookeville, Tennessee her senior year where she graduated Cookeville High School in 1960. Following her high school graduation she attended Tennessee Tech University. Margaret was a resident of Knoxville for fifty years where she was an active member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in South Knoxville. Margaret spent her working career in medical administration working for Drs. Felix Line and Dr. Foy Mitchell for 10 years, Pediatric Consultants at the University of Tennessee Hospital, UHS and UPA medical billing for 23 years. After retirement she worked part-time thru Staffing Solutions for Talbot’s for five years. Margaret is survived by her son, Mark and wife Marcia Medley; grandsons, Blake and wife Janelle Medley, Dylan and wife Nikki Medley and granddaughter, Anna Medley; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Mason, Mattox and Myah; brother, Ray C. Thomas and wife, Betty; nieces, Kristy Thomas, RaeAnne and Michael Pardue; great nieces and nephew, Caroline, Catelyn and Caleb. The family will receive friends Monday, September 11, 2023 from 5 to 7 pm with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 7pm at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 2500 Maryville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920.Rev. Kirby Ownby officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1pm at Smith-Wilkey Cemetery, Smith Bend Road, Evensville, Tennessee 37332 on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 for graveside services. Rev.
