Ellen Wilson, age 66, of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Southern California, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 2,

2023, at home. She was a member of Corryton Church. She is survived by her husband, James Wilson; children, Jason (Melissa) Wilson; grandchildren Sierra Wilson, Tamara Wilson, Jacob Stidam, Jathan Wilson, Kaitlyn Stidam and Clara Wilson. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces, including Joie Ramps of Houston, Texas. Mary was preceded in death by her parents L. Bradly and Mary Louise Simpson and her daughter Sarah Elizabeth Stidam. Mary was born on Thanksgiving Day November 28, 1957, in Hollywood, CA. She grew up in South Gate, CA. Mary’s love for God began at an early age when she asked her parents if she could go to the church on the corner. It was there that she accepted the Lord at age 7.

Mary attended South Gate High School where she was in the marching band. With the trumpet being her instrument of choice, Mary was chosen to be in the Los Angeles Unified School Districts All-City Marching Band and marched in the Rose Parade on New Years’ Day three times. She was also a member of the South Gate Youth Band. Upon graduation from high school, Mary went off to college where she would meet her future husband. Mary’s children and grandchildren brought her tremendous joy.

The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 7 pm December 14, 2023 at Corryton Church (7615 Foster Road, Corryton, TN 37721). A Celebration of Life will follow at 7 pm with Dr. Rocky Ramsey officiating. Family and friends will gather at 9 am Friday, December 15, 2023, at Rose Funeral & Cremation-Broadway and proceed in procession to Roseberry Cemetery (2920 Roseberry Road, Mascot, TN 37806) for 10 am graveside service.
