- Carolyn Tallent McClurg, age 82 of Alcoa went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, February 9, 2024, after a valiant battle with cancer. Carolyn was a graduate of Alcoa High School class of 1959 and attended the University of Tennessee. She worked at the Aluminum Company of America before leaving to raise her son and daughter. She also ran LaBelle Beauty Shop alongside her mother whom she adored. She worked at Northgate RV Center Inc. alongside her daughter and granddaugh­ter and later worked at the Blount County Chamber of Commerce / Blount Partnershi­p. She was an active member of First Baptist Alcoa then Immanuel United Methodist Church at the time of her passing. Carolyn was a former member of the Maryville Junior Chilhowee Club and a devoted wife, mother, grandmothe­r, and great-grandmothe­r. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchild­ren, they were the light of her life. She was the matriarch of her family, and it was a blessing to know her. She led her family to Christ. During her battle with cancer if you asked her if she was in pain or anxious, she would always say, “No, I’m fine” for she knew God was preparing a place for her. She will be deeply missed by her family and those close to her. She is preceded in death by her parents Bill and Imogene Tallent and her husband Harry B. “Mickey” McClurg. She is survived by her sister Billie Jean Schmidt (Wally Schmidt), son Mike McClurg (Diana McClurg), daughter Sonya Yates (Billy Yates), grandchild­ren, Kaitlyn Yates Gaboury (Mike Gaboury), Lindsey Yates Teague (Russell Teague), Mitchell McClurg, Matthew McClurg, Madison McClurg, great-grandchild­ren Bryson Gaboury, Rhett Teague, and Tucker Teague, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends at Immanuel United Methodist Church located at 2349 Mentor Rd., Louisville, TN 37777 on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 10:30am with a service to follow at 12:00pm. Officiated by Pastor Jason Stubblefie­ld and Rev. John Lowe.
