En prisión desde enero pasado, cuando fue reaprehendido, Joaquín Guzmán Loera, "El Chapo", cree que no va a llegar con vida hasta el mes de diciembre.
Eso dijo a sus abogados y a su esposa, Emma Coronel, quien recién presentó una nueva queja ante la Comisión Nacional de Derechos Humanos (CNDH) para pedir que cese lo que llama "maltrato" a su marido.
Coronel habló con medios locales. Aseguró que la salud de "El Chapo" se deteriora con rapidez e incluso sufre pérdida de memoria.
"Lo voy viendo peor y peor, se le olvidan las cosas, se queda de repente ido", señaló al diario Milenio.
"Es completamente otro, físicamente, cómo habla, cómo lo escucho, sé perfectamente que no es como era cuando estaba sano".

No es la primera vez que la familia denuncia un presunto maltrato a Guzmán Loera. En febrero pasado la misma Coronel dijo que no le permitían dormir y eso deterioraba su salud. "Temo por su vida", dijo en esa ocasión. Ahora en su queja ante la CNDH pide que termine el aislamiento de su esposo, y que le permitan salir al patio. También solicita que le autoricen más visitas de familiares y abogados.
En respuesta el comisionado Nacional de Seguridad, Renato Sales, rechazó que exista aislamiento y maltrato hacia el exlíder del Cartel de Sinaloa.
Sales dijo a la prensa local que "El Chapo" ha recibido la visita de sus abogados y familiares.
La vigilancia que tiene en la prisión de máxima seguridad de Ciudad Juárez, donde se encuentra desde mayo, "es especial" pero no significa que sufra tratos denigrantes.
"No está enfermo, está bien de salud, aceptable para un hombre mayor de 60 años", dijo el funcionario.

In response, the National Security commissioner, Renato Sales, denied that there has been any isolation and mistreatment of the former leader of the Sinaloa Cartel.
Sales told the local press that “El Chapo” has received visits from his lawyers and family.
The surveillance in the maximum security prison of Ciudad Juarez, where he has been locked up since May, “is special,” but this does not mean that he is suffering degrading treatment.
“He is not ill, is in good health, acceptable for a man older than 60 years,” the official said. (BBC)
