ENGLISH At least 11 people were injured on Monday morning during an attack at Ohio State University.

According to the OSU Police Department the suspect, a Somali-born Ohio State student crashed his vehicle into pedestrians on the Columbus campus, and then slashed the students with a butcher knife before being fatally shot by a university police officer.

Eleven people were rushed to hospitals and one was in critical condition. Only two of the victims are stable, according to university Police Chief Craig Stone.

Even though the police contained the suspect, it is still unknown if there were any other attackers involved.

The University Emergency System tweeted three different messages on its social network to alert the students and encourage them not to leave their classes and to follow the instructions of the police. One of the tweets read: “Run, hide, fight,” in that order.

OSU explained to the students that the main threat was located at Watts Hall, a building that houses the faculties of science and engineering.

The motives behind the attack are being investigated and no further information has been provided on the attacker.

The state of emergency inside the university has already been lifted, but there are some buildings that will remain closed until the police investigation is over. Classes have been cancelled.

Ohio State University houses more than 58,000 students.
