El deportivo Síquica recién ascendido a la Liga Nacional del futbol Guatemalteco, hizo su debut con el pie derecho.
Los Naranjeros se llevaron la victoria en casa por la minima diferencia del un gol por cero. La anotación fue lograda por Melvin Morales, delantero de 26 anos de edad.
Las puertas del estadio Mateo Sicay se abrieron muy temprano, y la afición lleno las instalaciones del mismo dos horas antes del tan esperado debut.
El alcalde del Municipio de Siquinala el Profesor Carlos Dardon le hizo una promesa al equipo si gananban el ascendo a la liga mayor, “dejare a toda la base del equipo si se logra el ascenso.” El deportivo Siquinala se juega su debut con la mayoría de los jugadores que subieron al equipo a la Liga Nacional, cosa que no es tradicional cuando un equipo asciende.
Desde el silbatazo inicial, Los Naranjeros salieron a proponer el encuentro. En la primera mitad, Melvin Estrada hizo que la afición se levantara del graderío cuando su cabezazo se estrellara en el trabezano defendido por Paulo Motta.
Los equipos se irian al descanso sin hacerse ningun dano.
En la segunda mitad llegaría una oportunidad de oro para el cuadro local. Después de un desborde por la banda izquierda, Melvin Estrada una vez mas haría de las suyas, y después de enviar un centro, el defensa de Sanarte haría contacto con la mano en el balón, lo que obligo al arbitro central a marcar tiro penal. El encargado de ejecutar el tiro desde los 12 pasos fue el capitan Henry Milian. El capi tenia enfrente a un experimentado guardameta que lo espero y termino desviando el penal para que el encuentro siguiera 0-0-.
A cinco minutos del final llegaria lo que todo el pueblo de Siquinala estaba esperando. Vendria el desborde por la banda derecha por parte de Brayan Morales que mandaria un centro para que Melvin Estrada mandara el balón al fondo de la red despues que el balon le rebotara en el pecho izquierdo y donde el guardameta de Sanarate Paulo Motta no pudo evitar que terminara en el fondo de la red. El único gol del partido no solo le dio los tres puntos a Siquinala, sino que le permitió aparecer en su debut el cuarto lugar de la tabla general de la Liga Nacional.

Deportivo Siquinala is the newest team in the Guatemala Major League Soccer. Siquinala started the tournament with their right foot winning their first three points at home defeating Sanarate 1-0.
The stadium doors were opened early sunday morning, and about two hours prior to the game, the stands were full.
The City Mayor of Siquinala Professor Carlos Dardon made a prom- ised to his team. “If one day we were to advance to the Major League, I will keep the core players to play with the big boys.” Dardon kept his promise. Usually teams that advance to the major league in Guatemala get rid of most of his players, Dardon didn’t.
From the beginning of the game, Siquinala wanted to win the match. The first opportunity to scored came early in the first half when Melvin Estrada send the ball and hit the crossbar that goalkeeper Paulo Motta was defending. The teams went to the looker rooms at halftime scoreless.
In the second half, Melbin Estrada gave the edge to the team when a cross ball hit the hands of a defender, the center referee called a penalty kick. The captain for Siquinala was in charge of taking the PK, but the goalkeeper of Sanarate blocked the shot and the teams remain scoreless.
With 5 minutes left in the game, finally the goal came, something that the whole city of Siquinala has being waiting for. Estrada with his left chest sent the ball to the far post and Paulo Motta couldn’t stop the shot after the cross from Brayan Morales. That was enough and Siquinala took the first 3 points of the tournament and allow the team to start 4th in the ranks of the Guatemala Major League Soccer.
