Jenks an­nounces its sum­mer food pro­gram

Jenks Pub­lic Schools have an­nounced this week through so­cial net­works that this sum­mer it will be hav­ing a food pro­gram for chil­dren.

This pro­gram will pro­vide free meals for stu­dents and their fam­i­lies dur­ing the months of the va­ca­tion pe­riod, which in­clude the months of June and July.

The support pro­vided for the stu­dents will be free, but the doors of the school cafe­te­rias will also be open for adults who are rel­a­tives of the chil­dren. Adults must pay a min­i­mum cost for each meal. The price for break­fast will be $3.00 and lunch is $4.00.

The pro­gram will be car­ried out thanks to the par­tic­i­pa­tion of pro­gram mem­bers and vol­un­teers.

For the month of June, meals will be­gin to be of­fered from the 11th to the 29th, from Mon­day to Fri­day. Break­fast will be served at 8:00 in the morn­ing and lunch at 12:30 in the mid­dle of the day.

In the month of July meals will be of­fered only from Mon­day to Thurs­day, start­ing from July 2nd and cul­mi­nat­ing on July 26th. On July 4th the schools will be closed.

Those in­ter­ested do not need to fill out any ap­pli­ca­tion, just sim­ply show up on the days men­tioned above.

Par­ents of stu­dents from these schools have men­tioned that this pro­gram will be of great ben­e­fit to many fam­i­lies. (La Se­m­ana)
