City Surplus Property Auction Saturday, May 19

TULSA, OK -- A 20-foot-high, 150-foot-long water slide from the old McClure Park pool, two pool tables, three Fender guitars (one bass), a baby grand piano and various gold jewelry items will be among the many items up for bids at the next City of Tulsa Surplus Property Auction. The auction will be held Saturday, May 19, at the City of Tulsa surplus property facility, 108 N. Trenton Ave., beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Potential bidders may preview the merchandise on Friday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The City surplus property facility also will open at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, for viewing merchandise before the sale begins. (The water slide is still at McClure Park, 7440 E. 7th St., for those who would like to look at it before the auction.) The successful bidder for the water slide will need to remove the slide from its current location at McClure Park by May 25. (McClure Park’s new pool is set to open on June 3.) Everything above the slab will be sold with the slide, including the hand railing, steps and pvc piping running vertically to the platform. As in previous auctions, there will be many surplus vehicles, lawn and mowing equipment, tools, building materials, electronics, furniture and office equipment for sale. All sales are “as is.” It is the bidder's responsibility to assess condition of merchandise.

Three auctioneers may be selling simultaneously, so bidders wanting to bid on multiple items should bring a partner/proxy. No one under age 16 may be admitted at the City surplus property facility.

Cash, Mastercards and Visa cards are accepted. Checks can be accepted only if accompanied by a letter of guaranty from the financial institution on which the check is drawn. Payment is required in full within one hour after the auction ends.

Sales are subject to applicable local and state taxes unless a sales tax permit is provided with proof of regular engagement in the re-sale business for items purchased. An Oklahoma Tax Commission auditor may be present.
