Demi Lovato is out of rehab and looking 'happy' in Los Angeles

-

Three months after her reported overdose in July, Demi Lovato is out of rehab, E! News reported Sunday. The 26-year-old was treated at a rehabilitation center after spending about two weeks in a hospital following a near-fatal drug overdose.

Little has been reported about her condition since, until now.

“Demi looked great and so happy to be out,” a source told E! News of the singer, who was seen at a Los Angeles sushi restaurant called Matsuhisa on Saturday. The witness told the outlet that Lovato “seemed happy and healthy” during the night out. According to from TMZ, Lovato was at the restaurant with a clothing designer named Henry Levy, and was spotted holding his hands during dinner.

The news follows reports from last week in which a source told E! that Lovato may live in Texas with her family after treatment. Although she hasn’t commented publicly on her next move, Lovato listed her L.A. home for sale in September. But it looks like she’ll be spending some time in California, at least for now. TMZ reported that Lovato was also seen at a spa in Beverly Hills over the weekend.

In August, Lovato shared an update about her recovery on Instagram, writing that addiction “is not something that disappears or fades with time.” She also thanked her family, as well as her fans and the people who have helped her with her treatment.

“I look forward to the day where I can say I came out on the other side,” Lovato wrote in her post. “I will keep fighting.” Lovato has talked about her struggle with addiction in the past too. In various interviews over the years, she’s talked about her father’s addiction, as well as her own experiences with drugs like alcohol and cocaine. But based on these new reports, it looks like Lovato is in a good place right now.

And while it sounds like Lovato has been in Los Angeles for a few days now, this isn’t the first time she’s been seen since entering treatment earlier this year. Lovato was seen at a strip mall in September, thanks to a day pass from her rehab center.
