New Year’s Mom List

-

With the arrival of the new year we have a chance of reinventing ourselves. It’s the time of year to think about the things we want to change, what needs to be improved and what has to be cherished. And today I want to share with you my mom’s list, the goals I have as a mother for 2019, and that I want to give you as a gift to mix in the new calendar.

This 2019 I wish all the parents of the world and I could:

Leave the phones aside and play more with our children.

Share our mental time with the kids instead of paying so much attention to trivial stuff such as the new royal baby to come.

Try to make our children fit into our every day chores, without being afraid of having a coffee with them, taking a longer journey, visiting a museum or even taking them to work some day.

Cook healthier and tastier, incorporating more veggies and fruits every day.

Cultivate our inner child, explore new tastes and feelings with our children regardless of “what they might say.”

Spend less money on useless toys and more on fostering our imagination, so that we teach them to create.

Ask the whole family to be more involved in the upbringing of the child, uncles, grandparents, cousins, everyone has a role in the heart and mind of the kid.

Show our children that mom and dad are a temple, a unity, a den, and that as a couple we are the example of the love we want them to give and receive someday.

Keep on being the best we can be, be a role model in every possible way: with your language, with your behavior, with your understanding.

Happy 2019 to all, let us ask for health, introspection and challenges! (La Semana)
