US wins World Cup
The defending champions secured a new title with a 2-0 win against the Netherlands in the final of the World Cup, France 2019.
In a very even game in the first half, the finalists showed why they are the two best teams in the world. The United States showed its ability to attack at all times but it was the Dutch goalkeeper who kept the score down in the first half.
The first goal was scored by Megan Rapinoe, at minute 67, via a penalty kick that came after a review of the VAR in a foul on Alex Morgan. With the self assuredness that characterizes Rapinoe, the dominant player took responsibility and opened the way for the triumph.

El primer gol lo anotó Megan Rapinoe, al minuto 67, por la vía del penal. El cual llegó tras una revisión del VAR en una falta sobre Alex Morgan. Con la seguridad que la caracteriza Rapinoe tomó la responsabilidad y abrió el camino para el triunfo.
Tras está situación Holanda se vio forzada a abrir su juego y eso le dio a Estados Unidos espacios para buscar el gol que sentenciaba un nuevo título. Con un remate fuera del área Rose Lavelle, anotó el 2-0 que dejó a Holanda sin moral.
La calidad, el proceso y su gran trabajo en equipo llevó a Estados Unidos a cosechar su segundo título consecutivo a nivel mundial. Con este trofeo se mantienen con la mayor cantidad de mundiales a nivel femenino, este sería su cuarto trofeo desde que se inició la Copa Mundial Femenina en los años 90.
“Son un gran grupo de jugadoras, pero sobre todo son un gran grupo de personas. Disfrútenlo, porque están haciendo historia”, expresó emocionada Jill Ellis, entrenadora de Estados Unidos al finalizar el encuentro.
En distinciones individuales, las estadounidenses también se quedaron con Megan Rapinoe como la jugadora del partido, la bota de oro como máxima goleadora del torneoy el balón de oro como la mejor del certamen, mientras que Alex Morgan se quedó con el botín de plata ya que ambas terminaron con la 6 tantos, Rose Lavelle también fue laureada con el balón de bronce.

The quality, the process and great teamwork led the United States to harvest its second consecutive title worldwide. With this trophy they keep the most women's world championships, this being be their fourth trophy since the Women's World Cup began in the 90s.
"They are a great group of players, but above all they are a great group of people,” said US coach Jill Ellis at the end of the match. “They’re enjoying it, because they are making history.”
In individual distinctions, the Americans also stayed with Megan Rapinoe as the player of the match, the gold boot as the tournament's top scorer and the gold ball as the best of the contest, while Alex Morgan was left with the silver boot since both finished with six goals.
