ORU announces $75 million fundraising campaign

-

Tulsa, OK – Oral Roberts University (ORU) has announced a new $75 million campaign to fund new buildings and scholarships at the school’s south Tulsa campus.

“ORU is focused on developing Spirit-empowered leaders and to do that we must keep growing and expanding our campus, giving our students unique opportunities to lead all over the world,” said Wilson. “We recently successfully completed our 50th Anniversary Campaign, raising over $50 million. We’ve experienced 11 years of enrollment growth. We have 115 nations represented in our student body. We have incredible momentum and we are building on that.”

In Phase I of the campaign, ORU will be raising $75 million dollars over the next three years, funding new buildings and scholarships. The showpiece buildings, to be located on the west side of campus, will include a state-of-the-art Media Arts Center (MAC), a new technologically driven library, and a Welcome Center.

The MAC, a performance, rehearsal, and teaching space, will bring together students from the Media Mastery Institute, music, theatre, dance, and visual arts programs. While many universities are cutting back or even eliminating their fine arts programs, ORU is excited to be making this significant commitment to the arts.

The new library will serve as a central hub for academic resources. The current library, known as the Library Resources Center (LRC), will be transformed into the Center for Global Leadership, where students will learn how to take their gifts and talents into leadership roles around the world.

The Welcome Center will serve as a “front door” to the University, and will house the admissions offices, student services departments, and a veterans experience. ORU has been recognized several times for its commitment to veterans and only last year opened the Military Student Research and Learning Center to provide veterans, active service military students, and their families access to computers and media resources in a comfortable and quiet environment.

The funds raised will also allow ORU to continue providing scholarships to learners from every nation, as ORU remains focused on having a student from every nation represented in its student body.

For those who give, a generous donor will match every campaign gift up to $45 million with a 3-to-1 match. That means if a donor gives $1,000, ORU will receive an additional $3,000 for an impact of $4,000.
