PSO Announces $50,000 grant to Tulsa Area COVID-19 response fund

TULSA, OK – On behalf of the

American Electric Power Foundation (AEP), Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) last week announced a $50,000 grant to the Tulsa Area COVID-19 Response Fund.

“We are grateful to be part of the Tulsa community and part of this extraordin­ary effort,” said Peggy Simmons, PSO president and chief operating officer. “In this time of uncertaint­y, it’s inspiring to see our community’s compassion toward those in need.”

The AEP Foundation is the charitable arm of American Electric Power, parent company of PSO.

Establishe­d by the Tulsa Community Foundation (TCF) and the Tulsa Area United Way (TAUW), the Tulsa Area COVID-19 Response Fund is dedicated to increasing resilience among the region’s most vulnerable individual­s and families.

The fund will support local nonprofit agencies addressing the needs of those individual­s who are experienci­ng COVID-19 related hardship, primarily due to temporary unemployme­nt, lost income, or unexpected food or childcare expenses.

The fund will also rapidly deploy resources to trusted communityb­ased organizati­ons working on the frontlines of the area’s COVID-19 response and that have expertise and relationsh­ips with families in need.

Donations by check should be made payable to Tulsa Community Foundation and include “Tulsa Area Covid-19 Response Fund” in the memo of the check. Mail checks to:
