JESÚS ÁVILA, ANDY QUIJADA, y RODNEY VASQUES representarán a Rogers en fútbol universitario to represent Rogers in college soccer
Estas Águilas Guerreras de la escuela secundaria de Rogers Heritage a vivir el sueño americano.
COVID19 no frenó el sueño de Jesús Ávila, Andy Quijada y Rodney Vasques de jugar futbol universitario. Los graduados de Rogers Heritage High School de la mano de Christian Saavedra recibieron la noticia de que habían sido aceptados a las universidades de Central Baptist College y Sterling College.
Vasques y Ávila han jugado juntos en los últimos años, y tomaron la decisión de seguir vistiendo camisolas iguales por cuatro anos mas. Ambos jugadores buscaran ganarse un puesto en el 11 titular de Central Bapstist College. Jesús Ávila como lateral derecho, y Rodney Vasques con defensa.
“Es algo grande, por ejemplo yo no sabia que iba ir al colegio a jugar, yo siempre he visto a mis amigos firmar e ir al colegio, dije un día lo podía hacer yo, y me llego la oportunidad pues la voy a tomar.” Comento Rodney Vasquez.

COVID19 did not stop the dream of Jesús Ávila, Andy Quijada and Rodney Vasques from playing college soccer. Rogers Heritage High School graduates from Christian Saavedra received the news that they had been accepted to the universities of Central Baptist College and Sterling College.
Vasques and Ávila have played together for seven years, and they made the decision to continue wearing the same jersey for four more years. Both players are looking to earn a spot at 11th start at Central Bapstist College. Jesús Ávila as right back, and Rodney Vasques in defense.
"It is something big, for example I did not know that I was going to go to school to play, I have always seen my friends sign and go to school, I said one day I could do it, and the opportunity came and I am going to take it. ” Rodney Vasquez commented.
Para algunos el poder estudiar y jugar en una universidad llega fácil. La historia de Jesús Ávila es muy diferente, ya que su estado migratorio no le permite contar con los mismos beneficios que pueda tener un estudiante nacido en Estados Unidos. “Pue para mi era mas diferente, pues estoy en una situación mas diferente que los demás, y pero todavía yo le seguí adelante y el entrenador me ayudo y el proceso fue mas fácil y aquí estamos ya. Pues yo no nací aquí, no tengo DACA, no soy un DREAMER, y me falto eso y el dinero del gobierno me hace falta, pero aquí estamos con Dios y todo.” Agrego Jesús Ávila.
Los tres estudiantes tienen sueños académicos y deportivos. Andy Quijada quiere logras sus metas paso a paso. “Yo quiero estudiar ciencias físicas, como el movimiento del cuerpo, y después de jugar en el colegio, mi sueno es jugar en la MLS, jugar NPSL, después chanza en la MLS, y si me dan otra oportunidad jugar como en las ligas de España,
Alemania, Inglaterra, Italia, o en alguno de esos lugares.” Concluyo Quijada.
Estos tres jugadores egresados de la Escuela Secundaria de Rogers Heritage se van en busca de su sueno, los egresados de RHHS no pudieron jugar su ultima temporada defendiendo el Nido de Las Águilas Guerreras, pero se van sabiendo que tuvieron un entrenador que velo por ellos, y que en momentos difíciles estuvo allí, El Señor Saavedra.

Jesús Ávila's story is very different, since his immigration status does not allow him to have the same benefits that a student born in the United States can have. “For me it was more different, because I am in a more different situation than the others, but still I kept going and the coach helped me and the process became easier and here we are. DACA, I'm not a DREAMER, and I lack that. I cant received federal funding, but here we are with the faith in God.” Avila added.
All three students have academic and sports dreams. Andy Quijada wants you to achieve his goals step by step. "I want to study physical sciences, like body movement, and after playing in college, my dream is to play in the MLS, play NPSL, and if they give me another chance to play like in the leagues of Spain, Germany, England, Italy, or one of those places, I will play there too. "Quijada concluded.
These three players graduated from Rogers Heritage High School an are in search of their dream, the RHHS graduates could not play their last season to defend El Nido de Las Águilas Guerreras, but they know that they had a coach who watched over them, and that in difficult moments he was there, El Señor Saavedra.
